Happy spring, teachers! In March, we’ve been focused on empowering teachers to reach every student in the right way for their own state, school, and classroom. Here are this month’s improvements in your Freckle account, which will give you more choices and more control over how you differentiate instruction for your students!
Assign targeted ELA Skills Practice
ELA Skills Practice is now assignable! Visit the Assignments page to create an assignment and choose exactly which skills you’d like your students to practice.
Teachers using the school edition of Freckle can have multiple assignments out at a time, while free edition teachers can have one assignment at a time.
Simplified view for K-2 students
K-2 students will now see a simplified, more kid-friendly interface for Math and ELA. In ELA articles, students will read just one paragraph at a time and click an arrow to move on to the next paragraph.
Math questions now have a larger font size, more concise word problems, and a simpler interface so younger students can stay more focused on answering the questions.
Tips and tricks on login
When you log in to your Freckle teacher dashboard, you’ll see useful tips that will help you get the most out of your Freckle account. We hope you'll learn something new every day when you open up Freckle!
Indiana math standards
We’ve added Indiana to the growing list of state math standards that are available in Freckle! To choose Indiana Academic Standards as your math system, simply go to your Settings and select Indiana from the Math System options.
(If you haven't checked them out yet, the other available state standards are Texas, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Missouri, South Carolina, Florida, and Tennessee.)
Internet Explorer and Edge support
Students and teachers who use Internet Explorer or Microsoft Edge as their web browser will have a smoother experience using Freckle!
Math standards pages for all states
All states now have access to the Math Standards page! No matter what math system your school uses, you’ll be able to view each standard, skill, or topic by grade. You can also drill down to individual standards to see sample questions and create a targeted assignment.
K-2 practice modes in the Activity Feed
Good news for K-2 teachers: your students’ practice in Number Facts and Sight Words will now appear in your activity feed. This will make it easier to see exactly what your students have been practicing. To choose which practice modes you'd like to view, you can click on "Filter by Subject" and select what you want to see.
