It's nearly Thanksgiving, and we have a lot to be thankful for here at Freckle. Most of all, we are thankful for the hard work you do to help your students grow every day!
We know how important it is for students to be placed at the correct level when they start math practice. This month, we have been focused on refining the accuracy of students' starting levels so they can quickly start practicing at their own pace.
Math pre-tests are faster and more precise
The Freckle math pre-test now places new students faster and more accurately. All domain pre-tests are now capped at 12 questions, so students at all levels can complete their pre-tests faster. The new pre-tests also more quickly identify students who are well below or well above grade level.
This means students can quickly move on to the fun and important part—math practice at the just-right level!
Star Math integration for starting levels
Freckle Premium customers who are also customers of Renaissance Star Math now have the ability to use Star’s trusted, world-class assessments to set students’ starting levels in Freckle. This replaces the students’ Freckle Math pre-tests, so student levels are consistent across the two platforms.
If you are a Freckle Premium customer and a Star Math customer, we will be contacting you in December to set up your integration, so keep an eye on your email inbox!
Uploaded Math Levels Report
Math teachers will now see a revamped Math Levels Report that highlights student growth and allows them to manually change student's Adaptive Math levels.
Teachers can now see an “Average Growth” column to assess how their class is improving in each Math Domain. You can drill into each domain to see the number of levels each student has grown. If needed, you can click "Edit" to reset a student’s current domain placement by either reassigning the pre-test or choosing a new level.
Additionally, if your school is a Freckle Premium customer and has uploaded students’ starting math levels from an external source, you can now see those levels in the Levels Report. This makes it easier to see what levels students are working at—and make manual adjustments if necessary.
