Lesson Objective: Students will be able to explain what emotions are and why they are learning about them.
Central Question: What are emotions and why are they important?
Journal Prompt: What do you think about when you hear the words “feelings” or “emotions?”
Intro Video:
Day 1 Activity: Feelings Brainstorm. 10 minutes.
Students brainstorm all the “feeling words” they can think of on cards to be posted and used later in the unit.
Day 2 Activity: Emotions Read-Aloud. 25 minutes.
Students will hear a read-aloud from the teacher from a list of suggested books and then discuss the emotions present in the story.
